No. 21 Women's Tennis Wraps Season With a Tough Loss to Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. - The ASU Women's Tennis team saw their 2008 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon as they fell 4-1 to the 16th Fresno State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs advance to the Sweet 16 with 22-7 overall record.

The Bulldogs came out strong in doubles as they quickly jumped out with a 8-5 win by Tinesta Rowe and Melanie Gloria in the one spot before sealing the point with a 8-4 win in the three spot over Kelcy McKenna and Lauren Megale by Damon Beatty and Jacqueline Haskett to take the lead.

ASU wasn't able to get anything to rolling in singles as well as Melanie Gloria put a quick win over Nadia Abdala in the one spot with a 6-2, 6-0 win. The only Sun Devil to take it to the Bulldogs was Ashlee Brown in the six-spot as she took a straight set win from Danon Beatty for ASU's only point on the day.

The loss wraps the ASU team duel season where now they await the Pac-10 Individual Tournament after the Team Tournament concludes.
