ASU: Sophomore who can play both outside hitter and defensive specialist...will use the year to get stronger and learn the college game while competing for playing time.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif....lettered three times in volleyball and once in track & field while in high school...was named Freshman Athlete of the Year at Notre Dame...two-time All-Mission League selection...was her volleyball team's MVP as a senior...four-time scholar athlete award winner.
Personal: Majoring in Marketing...full name is Nicole Marie Candela...parents are Frank and Polly Candela....has two brothers and two sisters...enjoys surfing and photography...born December 17, 1987 in Manhattan, N.Y.
Getting to know Nikki Candela
1.) The best part about this year's ASU Volleyball Team will be: making it to the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive year.
2.) If I could have lunch with anyone (living or dead) it would be: Will Ferrell
3.) The most interesting I did this summer was: Intern for the Los Angeles Clippers
4.) My favorite artist/album/song is: Steel Pulse, "Roller Skater's" and "Your House"
5.) If I could live anywhere, I would live in: Hawaii
6.) My advice to youngsters would be: Just stay organized and HAVE FUN!!
7.) The match I am looking forward to the most this year is: I have a few: U of A, USC, and Stanford
