ASU: Followed up an outstanding debut season in 2005 followed with an even better one in 2006...comes into this season with high expectations to lead the offensive power of the Sun Devils...expected to build off the past two seasons and become one of the finest outside hitters in the conference...earned Freshman All-Pac-10 Honors.
2006 (Sophomore): Only player remaining on the team who played in all 31 matches last season, starting 28 of them...collected 328 kills on the year, good for third on the team, as well as a 2.90 kill per game average...had 28 service aces, second highest total on the team...had 393 digs, second only to Sydney Donahue and 43 total blocks...had a career-high 23 kills in a win over Washington St. (11/16)...also had a career-high 23 digs in a win over Butler (9/23).
2005 (Freshman): Earned Freshman All-Pac-10 Honors after appearing in all 28 matches with 26 starts...recorded her first career double-double in her second career match, collecting 17 kills and 13 digs at Cal State Northridge (8/26)...totalled 12 matches with ten or more digs...tallied nine double-doubles on the year...had 16 kills and 17 digs against Oregon State (9/24)...finished second on the team with 235 kills...averaged 2.53 kills per contest...second on team in digs with 236...compiled 28 service aces, second highest total on the team...blocked 23 total shots.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Ariz... earned four varsity letters under head coach Jon Devenney... led Mountain Ridge to the 5A state title in 2004 with a 41-1 record... played club volleyball for North Valley Volleyball Club and Arizona Juniors... played on the USA Volleyball/Arizona High Performances team in 2003... named captain of Mountain Ridge her junior and senior seasons... named all-region as a sophomore... earned all-state, all-region and was the Northwest Region Player of the Year as a junior... capped her stellar prep career by being named the Gatorade State Player of the Year in 2004... also named the Arizona Republic State Player of the Year and made several All-America teams... named to the all-tournament team (American Division) while playing with the Arizona Juniors at the 2005 Nationals.
Personal: Majoring in Tourism... full name is Marjorie Catherine Giordano, but goes by Margie... parents are Charles and Robin Giordano of Glendale, Ariz... has one older brother (Matt) and one older sister (Mary)... favorite type of food is Italian, favorite color is blue and enjoys Mr. Goodbar candy bars... also likes watching sports on TV, snowboarding, being outdoors, shoe shopping and eating... born July 13, 1987 in Phoenix, Ariz.
