High School: A 2007 graduate of Valparaiso High school in Valparaiso, Indiana...earned three varsity letters under head volleyball coaches Michelle Salomon & Heather Treece... in her senior season (2006) Zikesch was named team MVP, IGSA - Indiana All-Star, Duneland All-Conference Team, Plymouth All-Tournament Team and was named Times All-Area and Post Tribune All-Area in 2005 & 2006...was the block leader and offensive player of the year in 2005...led the Vikings to a sectional championship and the Sweet 16 in 2003, 2004 and 2005...also played on the Dunes club team...was the junior class state representative, senior class secretary and awarded the Porter Starke "Impact scholarship.
Personal: Is currently an Exploratory major... full name is Alexandra Lauren Zikesch ... parents are Mark (Market Development) and Laurie (Design Consultant) Zikesch of Valparaiso, Ind...has an older sister and brother, Nicole (30) and Matt (25)...comes from an athletic family; her father played football at Kent State as well as several uncles playing and coaching at the collegiate level... also enjoys music, traveling and reading and lists winning sectionals in 2005 and being selected/playing on the Indiana All-Star Team in 2006 as her most exciting moment in sports...born June 11, 1988 in Valapariso, Indiana.
Getting to know Aliie Zikesch
1.) The best part about this year's ASU Volleyball Team will be: Learning from the Coaching Staff & teammates on how to challenge/ improve myself to compete at the college level.
2.) If I could have lunch with anyone (living or dead) it would be: Augustus Burroughs
3.) The most interesting I did this summer was: being with my family & friends.
4.) My favorite artist/album/song is: that's the hardest question ever!
5.) If I could live anywhere, I would live in: Quahog, Rhode Island
6.) My advice to youngsters would be: Enjoy everyday of your life! Open up to people who are different then you.
7.) My most prized possession is: Sadly, a rock I keep in my wallet & a necklace that my parents gave me.
8.) My favorite restaurant is: Jimmy's - Valparaiso, IN.
9.) The best place I have traveled to is: St. Lucia
10.) My ideal job would be: working for Drive-Thru Records.
11.) Something most people don't know about me is: I'm super non- judgmental - I get along with everyone.
